Since the early days of Steely Dan, I've fashioned myself to be "jazz sensitive", always in appreciation of the tightness of a group of talented musicians...then along comes someone...emphasis on the one) who incorporates all the talent of a group and puts it all together in a velvet "Sequence", hence, the middle name of Paul Ferguson...whose inspiration does not stop on one instrument alone. Finely tuning each piece of a plethora of instruments, He inspires us to make it our own, leaving the music to open our eyes & ears to not only live and enjoy life today but to experience the possibility of tomorrow....and that was only from the 1st track ! Look for this master at work in the future of jazz and you will not be disappointed.......!

At a time when jazz has all but dissipated into a sea of inequity, "FATHER" renews the spirit and engages the soul. Its textured sty lings of jazz, funk and pop rhythms meld in such away that the album has given rise to an entirely fresh, and new-sounding genre of music. The album takes us on a journey across the temporal regions of a brilliantly conceived landscape. A landscape that evokes calm atmospherics along with high-energy, bass-thumping grooves. "FATHER" offers something for everyone and delivers us one of the best albums that I've heard in a long time.

why not make an insightful decision and purchase the "stress reduction relaxation cd" by Paul "sequence" Ferguson. this cd is " a prescription for what ails you ".why not allow yourself the luxurious sensation that comes upon you and transports your soul free floating thru time and space. you will never want the experience to dissipate. at the culmination of this "musical gift" you will savor the next opportunity to enjoy a magnificent composition that allows you to rediscover your true self. this is the perfect gift for those you love. but take my advice, love yourself first.

AThis is your brain on truly imaginative ambient., October 21, 2004 As an avid music fan, musician, collector and composer, I have never found any other recording which represented so thoroughly the true heights of ambient sounds. This is the music Debussy and Chopin would be composing if they were alive and had the tools available which the new age affords. Structurally, the sublime movements in these craftings harkens to "Preludes" by Debussy, and the transitional skill, deftly understated, conjures the mastery of Chopin compositions completely. If you have not heard this wonderful disc, take the advice of someone who loves the genre...this is some of the best trance available anywhere.
